This policy explains how the website of Viveiros Da Bairrada - José Miguel Costa Unip. Lda uses cookies and other browser storage technologies, under Portuguese Law no. 41/2004 of 18 August, as amended.
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on the visitor's device to remember information between pages or visits. There are similar technologies, such as the browser's local storage, to which the same rules apply.
The website uses three categories of cookies. Necessary cookies are essential for the website to work and to remember the visitor's cookie choices, and therefore do not depend on consent. Statistics cookies make it possible to understand, in aggregate, how the website is used in order to improve it. Marketing cookies make it possible to measure campaigns and show relevant advertising on other websites and social networks. Statistics and marketing cookies, as well as the scripts of the respective providers, are only activated after the visitor accepts them in the notice shown on the first visit.
The visitor can accept all, reject all or choose by category, and can change or withdraw consent at any time through the "Cookie settings" link available in the footer of every page. The choice is stored in the vb_consent cookie for six months, after which the notice is shown again. Rejecting cookies does not prevent use of the website.
The cookies used in each category, with their provider, purpose and duration, are as follows.
Necessary
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
vb_consent | Viveiros da Bairrada | Stores the visitor's cookie choices | 6 months |
vb_admin | Viveiros da Bairrada | Session for the restricted management area (staff only) | Session |
vb_equipa | Viveiros da Bairrada | Identifies the staff's browser so it is not counted in the statistics (staff only) | 1 year |

For the quote list to work, the varieties the visitor adds are stored in the browser's session storage (sessionStorage). This information stays only on the visitor's device, is only sent to the server if the visitor submits the quote request, and is deleted automatically when the tab is closed or when the visitor clicks "Clear". As it is strictly necessary to provide a feature requested by the visitor, it does not depend on consent. The request the browser makes to Google Sheets to show up-to-date availability is made without cookies.
The visitor can also view and delete cookies in their browser settings. When following links to third-party websites, such as the map or the Electronic Complaints Book, those websites' cookie policies apply. More information on the processing of personal data is available in the Privacy Policy.
